Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a 25-year-old sales professional from Finland. I moved to Denmark 2.5 years ago and got an idea to start my own Vintage business online. I had worked with vintage clothing before but wanted to try this. At the same time, I started my journey in luxury fashion after working as a skin care and makeup professional for almost seven years full time. Two years ago I started my dream job as International Sales Manager for the Danish luxury fashion brand Baum Und Pferdgarten. This job has taught me so much about fashion and I think it's so cool to learn new things every day from my inspiring customers and colleagues.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Mornings are very sacred to me. I've always loved working out in the morning, but when I'm free in the morning, I turn on Radio Helsinki, boil an egg and get some vitamins. Then I drink coffee, get ready and read the news.
What do you always take with you when you leave home?
I always have my notebook, my MAC lipstick and my sunglasses with me.
When you have time off, what do you enjoy doing?
I am an outgoing person, but I also enjoy being alone. I like reading self-help books. I also meditate in the form of painting, cleaning or cooking. I also worked for many years as a makeup artist, so I like to create fun looks for myself or my friends.
How would you describe your style?
I always dress too much and I don't recognize that there should be certain occasions where you have to dress up. I like wearing masculine things with a girly twist. For example, mixing sporty things with party dresses.
What is fashion to you?
It is a way of expressing oneself. I use it as a tool to tell who I am without introducing myself.
Has your style always been the same?
My style has evolved since I was a child - almost every year, so no, definitely not. My mother is a tailor so I have always been interested in trying new things and she has helped me realize my fashion dreams from a young age. I've tried everything from the EMO scene to the all black Berlin style. Ever since I moved to Denmark, I have been more interested in playing with colors. I love trying new things and finding new ways to use colors and shapes. I have always been into vintage, good craftsmanship and interesting design.
Where do you find inspiration when it comes to fashion?
I love looking at what has already been done in history. I read a lot of fashion design books and magazines. I create Pinterest and Instagram boards for inspiration. Lately I've been very into Y2k fashion shows, the Britney & Paris era and early 2000's RNB music videos.
Do you have a rule of thumb when creating a great outfit?
Dress in the way that makes you feel most yourself. Dare to go crazy and try new combinations of colors and prints. Always choose a fun shoe and accessories to complete the look.
What is your favorite look?
I love wearing Baum Und Pferdgarten skirts and dresses with boots or loafers. Big blazers, mix-and-match colors! And not forgetting accessories and fun bags, especially Dior sunglasses!
