Sarah Emilie is a student and fashion lover. Her style is bold and vibrant, and as she says herself, she would rather miss a goal than be bored. We spotted Sarah Emilie on the street and couldn't resist asking her for an interview. In the interview, Sarah styles a pair of her favorite shoes from JoDis.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a self-proclaimed fashion lover, bookworm, art freak and coffee lover who studies information studies at the University of Copenhagen.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
I'm honestly not a morning person. But a hot bath and soft music in my ear always brightens my day. Nothing makes me smile faster than my cat and a cup of coffee. So feeding my funny ball of fur and getting my morning coffee is first on my list.
What do you always take with you when you leave home?
The short answer is coffee, Spotify, lipstick and a book. I commute to the University of Copenhagen and leave home with coffee in hand, music in my ear and an exciting book in my bag for the train journey.
When you have time off, what do you enjoy doing?
I love art, fashion, culture, travel, food, friends and family, so any combination of these things is a hit.
When did you become interested in fashion?
I have been interested in fashion for as long as I have been able to hold a Vogue magazine in my hand.
How would you describe your style?
While some may believe that "less is more", I agree with Iris Apfel that "less is boring".
What is fashion to you?
For me, fashion is a way of personal expression. I don't care about trends and I don't like to look like everyone else either. Strong, courageous women like Coco Chanel, Iris Apfel and Emilie Sindlev are for me the epitome of fashion with a unique personal style that is true to themselves.
Where do you find inspiration when it comes to fashion?
Although I have a weakness for Paris, inspiration can be found everywhere - from Pippilotti Rist's colorful art exhibitions, fashion week and flea markets.
Do you have a rule of thumb when it comes to creating a good outfit?
If I had a rule of thumb, I'd probably be the first to break it. For me, style is fun, playful and experimental - and I'd rather miss the mark than bore myself.
What is your favorite look?
I don't have a specific look, but if I'm in doubt about what to wear, I choose strong colors.
